Winthrop Eagles junior guard Xavier Cooks scored 17 points with 14 rebounds, five assists, and three steals in Sunday's win in the Big South Tournament Final, earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament.
Cooks posted his third consecutive double-double and seventh in his last eight games as the Eagles secured a trip to the field of 68. They are making their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2010. We currently project the 26-6 Eagles as a 15-seed.
Cooks has averaged 19.1 points and 10.3 rebounds in his last eight games.
