Valparaiso's Alec Peters diagnosed with a stress reaction
Valparaiso Crusaders senior forward Alec Peters (leg) has been diagnosed with a stress reaction in his leg but remains hopeful to play in the Horizon League tournament, according to Jeff Goodman of ESPN.
Peters is the heart and soul of Valpo as he leads the team with 23.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The senior has missed the last two games with the leg injury but is optimistic he will be able to play when the Crusaders next take the court on Saturday. That would give the big man just under two weeks of rest, since he last played on February 21.
Valpo's chances of making the NCAA Tournament all depend on their ability to earn the Horizon's auto-bid. Without Peters playing, they will have their work cut out for them, even as a two-seed.
