Mike Daum explodes for NCAA season-high 51 points in South Dakota State's win

South Dakota State Jackrabbits sophomore forward Mike Daum set a new NCAA season-high with 51 points in Saturday's win over the Fort Wayne Mastodons.

Daum, the nation's third-leading scorer with 23.9 points per game, eclipsed the previous high of 50 points by Central Michigan's Marcus Keene by nailing his 16th free-throw of the game. The sophomore was 14-for-29 from the field, 7-for-18 from three, and 16-of-17 from the stripe. He also nabbed 15 boards for his eighth double-double of the season.

Daum has nine consecutive games with double-digit scoring, averaging 31.4 points per game in the stretch.
