North Carolina State Wolfpack freshman guard Dennis Smith Jr. scored only eight points in Sunday's loss to the Louisville Cardinals.
Smith went 3-for-12 from the field, missing both of his three-point attempts and splitting his four free throw attempts. His disappointing performance was the first time all season he failed to reach at least 10 points in a game. The freshman was averaging 20.4 points per game on 45.9 percent shooting in conference play.
