Mississippi's DeAndre Burnett escapes serious injury

Mississippi Rebels senior guard DeAndre Burnett does not have any ligament damage after rolling his ankle on Wednesday and will be considered day-to-day with a high ankle sprain, according to Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports.

What It Means:

Burnett was forced from Wednesday's game against the Georgia Bulldogs with the sprain after playing only 13 minutes. While it is a positive the injury does not appear to be serious, his availability for Saturday's game versus the South Carolina Gamecocks is in doubt. Ole Miss sits at 10-6 but is 1-3 in SEC play and is a long shot make the NCAA Tournament. Our models currently give them a 7.1 percent probability.

Replacing Burnett will be difficult as he is the team's leading scorer with 18.0 points per game and accounts for nearly 30 percent -- 12.5 attempts per game -- of the shots taken by the team.
