Which teams with a not-so-impressive final record were the best in the country?

Every March, attention turns to underrated teams and under-the-radar college basketball squads. In his or her quest to the perfect bracket, everybody wants to find the next Cinderella.

But there are plenty of teams that don't quite fit the mold of an unknown and surely fall short of the teams deserving of the national spotlight and guaranteed spots in the big dance. These, primarily, come from the middle of the standings in power conferences.

So, which teams that failed to hit the 20-win plateau -- either as a result of being a one-sided squad, a playing tough schedule, or being plagued by inconsistent play -- were the best in the country based on our metrics?
