Carmelo Anthony reportedly intends to sign with Rockets
Oklahoma City forward Carmelo Anthony, who will reportedly be traded to and bought out by the Atlanta Hawks, intends to sign with the Houston Rockets, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Anthony still needs to be formally traded and clear waivers but the expectation has been that he will hop on with the Rockets, who Stein says will sign the 34-year-old to the veteran's minimum of $2.4 million. It's not clear what role Melo will play in Houston but he's still scheduled to receive his $27.9 million as part of being bought out from the Hawks.
Melo averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game while shooting just 40.4 percent from the field for the Thunder last season.
