Bulls to match Kings' $78M offer sheet to Zach LaVine
The Chicago Bulls have decided to match the Sacramento Kings' four-year, $78M offer sheet to restricted free agent Zach LaVine, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Not surprisingly, the Bulls responded quickly to the offer sheet signed on Friday by the 23-year-old guard. They were expected to match all along, as they were hoping another team would set the price on LaVine. They have plenty of cap room and consider the former Minnesota Timberwolves guard a crucial building block in their rebuild, despite his defensive deficiencies.
LaVine averaged 16.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 38.3% from the floor in 24 games last season. He posted a -2.2 nERD rating, ranking him 441st out of 498 NBA players in 2017-18.
