Wojnarowski: Paul George says he will opt out of contract with Thunder
Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George has informed the team that he will opt out of the final year of his contract and become an unrestricted free agent, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
This is not surprising, as George has been mentioned time and again as one of the better free agents on the board this summer. There has been years-worth of speculation that George is targeting a move to the Lakers. Free agency starts at midnight on July 1.
Paul averaged 38.6 FanDuel points in 2017-18, to go with 21.9 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.0 steals per game. He posted a .521 effective field goal percentage, and his nERD of 6.6 ranked him 31st among all players.
