Sixers' Robert Covington (finger) undergoes surgery, to be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks
According to The Athletic's Rich Hofmann, Philadelphia 76ers forward Robert Covington underwent successful surgery to repair a tendon in his left middle finger.
Covington suffered the injury way back on December 28th, but he continued to play through it the rest of the season. It was a minor procedure and he should be clear in a few weeks. After receiving a contract extension this year, the three-and-D forward figures to be a big part of the future in Philadelphia.
This season, Covington averaged 12.6 points per game on 41.3% from the field and 36.9% from three-point land. He played in 80 of 82 possible regular season games.
