Gregg Popovich (personal) won't coach Spurs in Game 3
According to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich will not coach the team Thursday against the Golden State Warriors.
Understandably, Pop will be away from the team and with his family after the passing of his wife, Erin, on Wednesday. Assistant Ettore Messina will coach Game 3 in his stead. When coach Popovich could return is not known, but as he would say, there are things more important than basketball. Our thoughts and best wishes to his family at this time.
Down 2-0 to the defending-champion Warriors, the Spurs have a 54.2% of winning Game 3, according to our models.
