Joel Embiid (face) officially ruled out for 76ers in Game 1
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (face) will not play against the Miami Heat in Game 1 on Saturday, head coach Brett Brown confirmed Friday in a radio interview on The Dan Patrick Show.
What It Means:
Embiid was listed as out on the injury report, so this doesn't come as any surprise. Amir Johnson figures to draw the start at center and there should be extra minutes for Richaun Holmes and Ersan Ilyasova off the bench. Consider Embiid questionable for Game 2 on Monday.
