Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart will undergo surgery on his injured thumb, and is expected to miss the rest of the regular season, according to Adrian Wojnarowski†of ESPN.
Wojnarowski reports that there's "hope" Smart can return to the Celtics during the playoffs, which means he will almost certainly miss the rest of the regular season. With Smart out for the foreseeable future, Terry Rozier will play a big role for the Celtics down the stretch.
Smart has averaged 24.4 FanDuel points per game this season.
