Wesley Matthews (hip) will not play for Mavericks on Tuesday
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Wesley Matthews (left hip) will not play Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets, head coach Rick Carlisle said.
Matthews was out for just one of the Mavericks' first 60 games this season, but this will be his second straight on the shelf as the team begins to prioritize ping pong balls over victories. Doug McDermott logged a team-high 34 minutes off the bench on Sunday with Matthews on the shelf.
Matthews is averaging 23.7 FanDuel points per game this season. Over the remainder of the year, numberFire's models project him to record 13.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 0.9 steals, and 1.6 3-pointers per game.
