According to the Star Tribune's Jerry Zgoda, the Minnesota Timberwolves are not planning to buy out the contract of forward Shabazz Muhammad.
When asked about the possibility of the Timberwolves buying Muhammad out, coach Tom Thibodeau said, "Nope, we like the team we have." Earlier reports said Muhammad was asking for a trade while others expected the Wolves to be open to a buyout. But he'll stay and remain out of the rotation. Nemanja Bjelica, Jamal Crawford and Marcus Georges-Hunt have kept him on the bench even with Jimmy Butler (knee) out.
Muhammad is averaging 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.4 minutes per game and 32 games this season.
