Timberwolves' Jimmy Butler (knee) diagnosed with meniscal injury
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Jimmy Butler has been diagnosed with a meniscal injury to his right knee.
Butler left Friday's game after suffering what appeared to be a non-contact injury while driving through the lane. He was helped off the court and did not return. Some reports suggested that he may have avoided an ACL tear, and this seems like the MRI has confirmed that notion. The team said that it will release further updates when available. For however long Butler's down, expect Nemanja Bjelica to start and Jamal Crawford to get more time off the bench. Andrew Wiggins should see more shots as well.
To this point, Butler's 9.3 nERD ranks him 11th in our most recent player power rankings.
