Timberwolves' Jimmy Butler (right knee) to receive an MRI on Saturday
Minnesota Timberwolves guard/forward Jimmy Butler (knee) will receive an MRI on his right knee on Saturday.
Butler has helped off the court Friday night with a non-contact knee injury. He was immediately sent for x-rays (which came back negative) but will be re-evaluated after the MRI on Saturday. Coach Tom Thibadeau wouldn't speculate on the injury, but the T-Wolves fear a ligament was torn. Expect Butler to be out for a while (likely the season) and most definitely on Saturday night. Nemanja Bjelica is expected to start in his place against the Chicago Bulls with Karl-Anthony Towns and Andrew Wiggins seeing an uptick in usage.
Entering Friday night, Butler was averaging 41.7 FanDuel points per game and owned a 9.5 nERD rating (7th-best among the 500 NBA players).
