Ricky Rubio (quad) will not play on Saturday for Timberwolves
Minnesota Timberwolves guard Ricky Rubio (strained quad) will not practice on Friday and has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Chicago Bulls.
The Timberwolves are likely to be cautious with Rubio given his injury history, but it looks like he should be good to go for the regular season. Rookie Tyus Jones is likely to see a good share of minutes with Rubio out.
Rubio had a difficult 2014-15 season, even when he was healthy. He finished with a career-low 98 Offensive Rating and career-high 110 Defensive Rating. His True Shooting Percentage also dipped to a career low. The Wolves will have an additional mouth to feed with Karl-Anthony Towns, which could help Rubio in the assists column, but he doesn't look like he'll be developing into a high-scoring threat anytime soon.
