Mavericks' Deron Williams aggravates his other calf

Dallas Mavericks guard Deron Williams returned to practice on Friday after dealing with a calf issue last week, but he was forced to leave practice early after aggravating his other calf.

What It Means:

The injury doesn't sound serious for Williams at this time, but his history of injuries over the past few seasons adds extra anxiety. He has only played more than 68 games in two of the past seven seasons.

With the injuries came ineffectiveness for Williams last year. He finished with a -1.8 nERD, good for 97th in the league. His 105 Offensive Rating was the worst mark that he has posted since his 2005-06 rookie campaign. Williams figures to see an increase in his usage in Dallas, but his effectiveness and health are considerable questions.
