Suns acquire Magic's Elfrid Payton in exchange for second-round pick

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns will acquire point guard Elfrid Payton from the Orlando Magic.

What It Means:

The Magic are getting the Suns' 2018 second-round pick. That pick could be at the top of the second round with the Suns tanking toward the end of the season. We should expect the Suns to provide Payton with the chance to start over Tyler Ulis, with Devin Booker at the two-guard spot. D.J. Augustin and Shelvin Mack will probably split the minutes in Orlando going forward.

Payton has started all 44 of his games this season. In doing so, he's accounted for 13.0 points (on 52% shooting), 6.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds a game.
