Knicks receive Johnny O'Bryant, second-round picks in trade with Hornets
The Vertical's Shams Charania reports that the New York Knicks will acquire power forward/center Johnny O'Bryant and two second-round draft picks in exchange for center Willy Hernangomez.
Hernangomez had requested a trade, but this move not only appeases him but shaves off $1.5 million from the Knicks' cap for next season. The draft picks are probably the bigger get here, as they could use them to get back up into the late first-round at some point in the near future. O'Bryant figures to backup Enes Kanter and Kyle O'Quinn.
Through 36 games, O'Bryant is averaging 4.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 10.5 minutes per game this season.
