Hornets to acquire Willy Hernangomez from Knicks

According to The Vertical's Shams Charania, the Charlotte Hornets are finalizing a trade to acquire New York Knicks center Willy Hernangomez.

What It Means:

Hernangomez officially made his trade demands known earlier this week. There have been rumors about his displeasure for quite some time, but the Knicks have finally decided to do something about it. It's not known whether Kristaps Porzingis' (knee) season-ending injury had anything to do with the move. In return, the Knicks are getting center Johnny O'Bryant and two second-round picks. While Kyle O'Quinn figures to get more minutes in New York, Hernangomez will have to fight for minutes with Cody Zeller and Frank Kaminsky in Charlotte.

In his 2nd NBA season, Hernangomez has been limited to 26 games and 9 minutes per game with the Knicks. He averaged 11.6 points and 9.3 rebounds in 22 starts a season ago.
