Bulls make max offer to Jimmy Butler

The Bulls have offered Jimmy Butler the max qualifying offer, as expected.

What It Means:

Other teams cannot offer Butler any contract less than three years, as a result of the qualifying offer. Butler desires a one-year deal to be an unrestricted free agent next summer, when the salary cap is set to increase. The Bulls need to keep him as the cornerstone of their team.
