Report: Sixers showing interest in Grizzlies' Tyreke Evans

The New York Times' Marc Stein is reporting that the Philadelphia 76ers are showing interest in Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyreke Evans.

What It Means:

Evans is on an expiring contract, so he's up for grabs as a member of a Memphis team headed for the lottery. However, the Grizzlies' asking price is a first-round pick, which is quite high for a rental. There is the chance that Memphis takes back a player like Jerryd Bayless, who is due $8.5 million next season. Other teams have been targeting the veteran guard, but a deal doesn't seem imminent at this time.

In 46 games (26 starts), Evans is averaging 19.5 points, 5.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds per game. His 3.2 nERD leads the team and ranks 14th among all NBA guards.
