Update: Nikola Mirotic deal between Bulls and Pelicans has reportedly 'fallen apart for now'
Chicago Bulls forward Nikola Mirotic was headed to the New Orleans Pelicans, but the trade has "fallen apart for now," reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
What It Means:
The reported deal would have sent Mirotic to New Orleans in exchange for Omer Asik and a first-round pick. It's unclear if the two sides will try again but it sounds like the Bulls are committed to moving Mirotic by the February 8 trade deadline.
Mirotic is averaging 28.9 FanDuel points in 25 games (three starts) this season. numberFire's models currently project him to record 17.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 0.7 steals, 0.9 3-pointers, and 0.6 blocks per game over the remainder of the year.
