Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Hornets' Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (shoulder) likely out for season

Charlotte Hornets forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist needs right shoulder surgery, and he will likely miss the entire season.

What It Means:

His initial timetable for recovery is six months, leaving a slight possibility that he'll return in early-to-mid April. This is devastating news for Kidd-Gilchrist and the Hornets, who inked a four-year, $52 million extension this summer.

Nicolas Batum will likely have to fill the void at small forward, with Jeremy Lamb, P.J. Hairston, Troy Daniels and possibly Jeremy Lin all chipping in at SG. Marvin Williams could also spend more time at small forward.
