Nikola Mirotic

Bulls' Nikola Mirotic drawing trade interest from Jazz, Pistons

According to the New York Times' Marc Stein, the Chicago Bulls are discussing trade options involving forward Nikola Mirotic.

What It Means:

Prior to the season and following an in-practice altercation with teammate Bobby Portis, Mirotic was expected to ask out of Chicago. It's unclear if Mirotic is now asking for a trade, but he's not eligible to be moved until January 15th. He also has a no-trade clause, but word is that he'd be willing to waive it to go elsewhere. The Utah Jazz were the first team to throw their hat in the ring, while the Detroit Pistons have also showed interest of late. If Mirotic is moved, it would open up more playing time for Lauri Markkanen and Bobby Portis.

Through 17 games and 3 starts, Mirotic is averaging 17.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 25.1 minutes per game. Our models project him for averages of 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game over the remainder of the 2017-18 season.
