Spurs' Kawhi Leonard (quad) out Friday, targeting Saturday debut
San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for Friday's game, but he is reportedly targeting Saturday's game for his return to the NBA hardwood.
Leonard has been inching closer to a return and it might just be a matter of a couple days until we finally get it. The All-Star went through a workout on Thursday and will be re-evaluated Friday. According to Spurs beat writer Jabari Young, he will play against the Phoenix Suns barring a setback. For Friday, Rudy Gay should start, but he and LaMarcus Aldridge's involvement should decrease upon Leonard's 2017 debut.
Leonard is projected for averages of 22.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.3 3-pointers, 1.7 steals, 0.9 blocks, and 2.3 turnovers per game over the rest of the 2017 season.
