Paul Millsap (wrist) could be out for Nuggets up to three months

Denver Nuggets forward/center Paul Millsap could be out up to three months after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left wrist, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

What It Means:

Millsap suffered the injury on Sunday versus the Los Angeles Lakers. His absence should lead to more opportunity in the Nuggets' offense for Gary Harris, Nikola Jokic, and Jamal Murray. Kenneth Faried started against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, but that was with Wilson Chandler (back) also out. Denver may opt to go smaller and start Will Barton while moving Chandler to the four.

Millsap is averaging 32.1 FanDuel points across 16 games this season. Without knowing the extent of the injury, numberFire's models currently project him to record 20.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 0.9 3-pointers, 1.4 steals, 0.8 blocks, and 2.7 3-pointers on 47.4 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from deep over the remainder of the year.
