Lauri Markkanen to remain Bulls' starter upon Nikola Mirotic's return
Chicago Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg said that forward Lauri Markkanen will remain the team's starter even when Nikola Mirotic (face) is cleared to play.
Mirotic isn't traveling on the team's upcoming road trip, but he is set to return in the next couple weeks. When he does so, though, his starting role will be gone. To no one's surprise, Markkanen will continue to start as he rolls through and impressive rookie campaign.
With averages of 14.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.4 threes per game, Markkanen and his 0.3 nERD rank second on the team through 12 games.
