Julius Randle's future with Lakers 'very unlikely'
Los Angeles Lakers power forward/center Julius Randle is a player "whose future is very unlikely to continue with the Lakers", according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Prior to last night's game against the Boston Celtics, Wojnarowski reported on the situation in the lead-up to the ESPN telecast. It doesn't exactly come out of nowhere either. Randle will be a restricted free agent with both Kyle Kuzma and Larry Nance under contract past this season. And, with Brook Lopez coming off the books after 2017-18, the Lakers are expected to make a run at big-name free agents this offseason. Randle could be a prime trade candidate as the season moves forward.
With averages of 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds to date, our models have Randle down for 13.0 points, 9.1 rebounds and 32.9 minutes a game over a total of 60 games the rest of the season.
