Jayson Tatum (ankle) out for game, Marcus Smart starts second half for Celtics
Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum (right ankle soreness) will not return on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers and Marcus Smart will start the second half.
Tatum was able to walk back to the locker room without assistance, so the Celtics are hopefully just erring on the side of caution with this year's 3rd overall pick. If this winds up costing him games, it would open up minutes for Smart and Marcus Morris, as well as Abdel Nadar, Semi Ojeleye, and Daniel Theis.
Tatum scored 5 points on 1-of-2 field goals and 3-of-3 free throws with 1 rebound, 1 assist, 1 block, 1 steal, and 1 turnover in nine minutes before leaving.
