Hornets' Malik Monk scores 25, earns coach's praise in Wednesday's win
Charlotte Hornets guard Malik Monk scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-17 from the floor Wednesday night in a 126-121 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
Following the rookie's performance, head coach Steve Clifford praised Monk's shot selection and decision-making. "Tonight, it was his decision-making. When he plays attacking -- going to the basket -- he's a very good passer, too." Monk didn't settle for long jump shots as he had in previous games, so we should expect to see more from him when he gets minutes off the bench. If he keeps it up, Monk could take Michael Carter-Williams' backup spot and force his way into minutes even with the evenutal return of Nicolas Batum (elbow).
At $3,800, Monk's 31.9 FanDuel points returned a value of 8.39 points per $1,000 on Wednesday night. He's projected for just 7.2 minutes and 4.7 FanDuel points on Friday against the San Antonio Spurs.
