Nuggets' Gary Harris relieved after signing lucrative extension

Denver Nuggets shooting guard Gary Harris said, "It's like a weight off my shoulders" when discussing the impact of his new four-year, $74 million contract.

What It Means:

The start of Harris' 2017-18 season comes 11 days after signing a big-time extension that will keep him in Denver until 2022. A few days ago, though, the 23-year-old said, "Now, it's time to focus on basketball." He added that he likes Denver and that it's been fun playing there so far. But, going forward, Harris will be asked to earn his contract and reach the high potential that many see him having as a premier two-guard in the league.

Fresh off averaging 14.9 points, 1.9 threes and 3.1 rebounds per game last season, Harris is projected for even better numbers in 2017-18. Over 35.0 minutes a night, our models have him pegged for averages of 16.3 points (on 45.2% shooting), 2.2 threes and 3.8 rebounds. For game one, expect 30.7 FanDuel points at a cost of $5,400 against the defensively-minded Utah Jazz.
