Boston Celtics forward Gordan Hayward left Tuesday's season-opening game on a stretcher after having his left leg bent in an awkward manner.
Hayward was going up for an alley-oop in the first quarter and awkwardly landed on his leg in one of the most gruesome injuries seen in a while. An air cast was placed on his leg, and the forward was put on a stretcher. The injury will likely cost Hayward his 2017-18 season after playing just over five minutes.
Hayward left with 2 points and 1 rebound in just over 5 minutes played.
