Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon is ready for a breakout year after finishing 47th in fantasy following the trade of Serge Ibaka last season.
After the Magic traded Ibaka on February 14th, Gordon ranked 47th among all players and 20th among forward-eligible players in standard nine-category leagues. During that time, he averaged 16.2 points, 0.8 threes and 6.2 rebounds in 31.3 minutes and 25 games. He took over at his more natural power forward position, where he should play most of this season if not overtaken by rookie Jonathan Isaac.
Gordon has averaged 18.4 points on 53.6% shooting from the floor and 42.9% from three in 24 minutes per game this preseason. Going, on average, with the 89th pick in Yahoo! drafts, Gordon is projected for 14.5 points (on 44.3% shooting) and 7.1 rebounds per game, according to our models.
