Warriors' Kevin Durant eager to be better, could be top fantasy option this season
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is determined to be better this season and could play his way to fantasy basketball's top option if he can get in a full campaign in 2017-18.
On a per-game basis, Durant finished last year as fantasy basketball's top player, according to Basketball Monster's Player Rankings. But, based on totals, Durant fell to eighth after missing 20 total games on the year. Instead, the top honor went to teammate Stephen Curry, who, according to the Associated Press' Janie McCauley, has been competing with Durant in shooting contests and pushing him to become a better shooter and player in his second year with Golden State.
If Durant plays the same game and stays healthy, we expect him to be this season's fantasy MVP. Over a projection of 78 games, our models like him to tally 25.0 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.1 assists while shooting 51.4%/38.9%/84.8% across 34.3 minutes per game.
