Wizards' Kelly Oubre might start with Markieff Morris (sports hernia) out
Washington Wizards coach Scott Brooks said that forward Kelly Oubre could start the season in the starting lineup.
Markieff Morris, the Wizards' primary power forward, is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after undergoing sports hernia surgery. Brooks will have to fill the void he leaves and going with Oubre and Otto Porter at the three and four spots could be a solution. There's a chance that Jason Smith plays minutes at power forward in Morris' stead as well.
Oubre averaged 20.3 minutes, 6.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 79 games last season. Our models project him for 21.9 minutes while averaging 7.3 points per game on 41.2% shooting in his third NBA season.
