Hawks' Dennis Schroder arrested on misdemeanor battery charge
Atlanta Hawks point guard Dennis Schroder was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge early Thursday morning, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Schroder was released from an Atlanta holding facility on bail. The Hawks released a statement on the incident this afternoon, saying that the team is still gathering information and will have no further comment at this time. Surely, we'll get some updates in the coming week or so, but if Schroder's disciplined by the league Malcolm Delaney will be the point guard in Atlanta to start the season.
Last season, Schroder averaged 17.9 points, 6.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds across 31.5 minutes per game. But his -3.2 nERD ranked just 196th of 245 NBA guards.
