Dwyane Wade expected to finalize deal with Cavaliers Wednesday

Free agent guard/forward Dwyane Wade, formerly of the Chicago Bulls, is closing in on a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers that could be finalized "as soon as Wednesday," according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski‏.

What It Means:

This doesn't come as much surprise, as the Cavaliers emerged as heavy favorites following Wade's buyout with the Bulls. The Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat were also believed to be in the running. Wade's arrival in Cleveland will take minutes away from J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver, and Iman Shumpert, but he's also going to see his playing time reduced after logging 29.9 minutes per game last season with the Bulls. The 35-year-old veteran is best viewed as a late-round fantasy option.

Wade showed he still had some life in his legs last season, as he averaged 18.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 1.4 steals in 29.9 minutes per game in 2016-17 for Chicago. His -0.7 nERD was tied for 269th out of 486 NBA players.
