Rajon Rondo meeting with Pelicans

Free agent guard Rajon Rondo will meet with the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday regarding a potential one-year deal, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

What It Means:

Having also met with the Los Angeles Lakers about a one-year deal, it looks like Rondo's not getting the multi-year deal he would like in today's market. For the Pelicans, it's clear that they're comfortable with Rondo as their backup point guard and Jrue Holiday working off the ball for periods of time.

In 69 games with the Chicago Bulls, Rondo averaged 7.8 points, 6.7 assists and 5.1 rebounds in 26.7 minutes per game. His -3.2 nERD ranked 425th of 486 NBA players.
