Jamal Crawford clears waivers, to sign with Timberwolves
Atlanta Hawks guard Jamal Crawford has cleared waivers and is now poised to sign a two-year deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves, per ESPN's Chris Haynes.
Crawford was part of a three-team deal that sent Danilo Gallinari to the Los Angeles Clippers and Paul Millsap to the Denver Nuggets. He was almost immediately bought out by the Hawks and put on waivers. The 37-year-old was previously linked to the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers, but it looks like he'll serve as the Timberwolves' first guard off the bench. His deal is reportedly worth $8.9 million over the two seasons.
Crawford's -5.5 nERD in 2016-17 was the worst since his rookie year as he averaged, across 26.3 minutes per game, 12.3 points on 41.3% shooting from the floor.
