Steve Clifford says Hornets' Al Jefferson has lost weight
Charlotte Hornets center Al Jefferson has been on a "month-to-month" plan to lose weight, said Hornets' head coach Steve Clifford.
Nimble has never been an adjective used to describe Jefferson, an old-school big man, but he is a consistent threat down low on the block. The improved conditioning could help him become a better defender.
The 30-year-old Jefferson averaged 16.6 points and 8.4 rebounds last season. His minutes per game (30.6) were his lowest mark since the 2005-2006 season.
