Grizzlies sign Tyreke Evans to one-year deal

The Memphis Grizzlies have signed guard/forward Tyreke Evans to a one-year, $3.3 million deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

What It Means:

Evans was included in the DeMarcus Cousins trade at the deadline last season between the Pelicans and Kings, and injury and inconsistency lead to a career-worst season overall. However, it's a nice bargain for the Grizzlies, as Evans will only turn 28 next year. He'll play on a one-year prove-it contract, much-like what Dion Waiters did this past season.

Evans is coming off averaging 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.1 assists over 19.7 minutes per game with the Pelicans and Kings. He posted a .462 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of -1.9 ranked 365th.
