Celtics shopping Jae Crowder and Avery Bradley
Boston Celtics guard Avery Bradley, forward Jae Crowder, and point guard Marcus Smart have been mentioned in trade talks as the team tries to "aggressively" create sufficient cap space, according to ESPN.com.
The Celtics need to clear out some space after they spent up on guard/forward Gordon Hayward. Boston has reportedly talked with "at least half a dozen teams" and it sounds like at least one of their players will be dealt. The Celtics may prefer to send Crowder with the crowded depth chart they have at small forward, thanks to Hayward's arrival and the presence of recent draft picks Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Crowder's contract is a major value, so that will help in negotiations.
Crowder's 4.3 nERD was 24th-best among the 275 forwards in the league and second-highest on the Celtics in 2016-17. Crowder averaged 13.9 points with a 57.2 percent effective Field Goal Rate.
