Heat turning attention to Rudy Gay

The Miami Heat have now turned their attention to free agent forward Rudy Gay, according to the Miami Herald.

What It Means:

Having missed out on free agent Gordon Hayward, the Heat are now looking to Gay to fill the forward position. They can offer him up to $14 million, but it's unclear whether the Heat are willing to give Gay -- now 30 and coming off an Achilles injury -- that kind of money. The Oklahoma City Thunder are also in the running for Gay's services.

In 2016-17, Gay posted a -0.5 nERD in 30 games. He finished the season with 18.7 points and 6.3 rebounds in 33.8 minutes a game.
