Rudy Gay would like to join Thunder

Free agent forward Rudy Gay, formerly of the Sacramento Kings, would prefer to sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, but there's a "sizeable gap" on what they can offer and what he is looking for, according to sources of Royce Young of ESPN.

What It Means:

The Thunder are still working on a deal for Andre Roberson, whose potential cost could make it almost impossible for them to also sign Gay. He's also been linked with the San Antonio Spurs, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Kings, but Sacramento seems particularly unlikely after the 31-year-old forward (in August) declined a $14.3-million option with the club -- despite the fact that he's currently recovering from a ruptured Achilles.

Prior to the season-ending injury, Gay averaged 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.5 steals, 0.9 blocks, and 1.4 3-pointers in 30 games for the Kings.
