Bucks making pitch to free agent Derrick Rose
Free agent Derrick Rose will meet with the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday.
What It Means:
The Bucks don't have the cap space to make Rose or any other high-profile free agent a competitive offer, so the team is trying to shed some contracts. An obvious goal for a cap-clearing deal would be to move center Greg Monroe, as he's on the books for $17.8 million in 2017-18. Rose would be looking at a starting role in Milwaukee and would be close to his hometown of Chicago, so this could be a good fit for the former MVP. Rose's potential arrival puts the fantasy appeal of Matthew Dellavedova and Malcolm Brogdon in question.
Rose's -2.9 nERD in 2016-17 was the 190th-most among the 245 qualifying guards in the league.
