Free agent Dion Waiters met with Heat on Sunday
Free agent guard/forward Dion Waiters met with the Miami Heat on Sunday.
Waiters also met with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday and has been heavily linked to the Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings and New York Knicks, so his agent should have nice leverage in contract talks. Waiters did say that he would be willing to take a discount to return to Miami, and with the Heat expected to have about $35 million in cap space, there's a good chance they will be able to bring back both Waiters and James Johnson. Fellow Heat free agent target Gordon Hayward could make a decision as soon as Sunday night.
Waiters' -2.6 nERD ranked 182nd among the 245 qualifying guards in 2016-17.
