The New York Knicks have been reluctant to consider taking on Houston Rockets forward/center Ryan Anderson in a deal centered around forward Carmelo Anthony, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Anderson has been shopped by the Rockets for a while, but it's not going to be easy to move his monster $61 million, three-year contract. The Knicks are finally embracing a rebuild and are trying to avoid long-term salary commitments to older players, so Anderson doesn't fit into their plans.
Anderson's 2.3 nERD in 2016 was the 45th-most among 275 qualifying NBA forwards this year. Anthony's -0.7 nERD was 163rd-most among the same players.
